God is saying, “Come as you are.” He’s not talking about what you’re wearing on the outside, but the things you’re wearing on the inside. The things that hides behind your smile, your clothes, your social status or your material possessions. He wants you naked, so that He can see your truth. He wants you, not who you pretend to be. He’s saying, it’s time to declutter! You have too much “stuff” in the way. God is saying, “Let me see you.” Aren’t you tired of hiding? Aren’t you tired of trying to “fix it”? Aren’t you tired of the shame, the guilt? God is saying, “Let me help you!” Give Him those ugly parts. Let Him see your scars. Show Him where it hurts! Tell him your secrets… All too often, we don’t want to come to God, unless we’ve fixed ourselves up. We feel like we’re not worthy, unless we have it all together. God doesn’t want a front, He wants your truth. That’s the only way that He can use you! It’s the only way that you can be delivered! So, today, I urge you, to come as you are; Naked. In whatever way that means. Angry, damaged, regretful, broken, tired, weak, confused, abused, sick, unforgiving, betrayed, lonely, bitter, anxious, guilty… Whatever your nakedness says, God is saying to you, “I’ll take it, because I take you. I love you.” Trust Him. He’s the only one who won’t bail on you. Allow Him to love the pain away. He’s saying, “Take it all off, and do not put a cover on. Don’t turn off the light… I want to see you naked.”
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” – Matthew 11:28-29
