Part 6: The finale
The next day came quickly, and it was Jessica and Joe’s last day to have a final date with each other, before choosing the person they “love.” Both me and Aaron were a bit nervous. Aaron already has plenty of money, so winning the money wasn’t a big thing to him, he was truly looking for love.
Money was no longer my focus either. I loved Joe, and I could no longer deny it. Joe was my person. Although I feel like Joe’s my person. I’m not sure if he feels the same way about me.
I mean, I did help him up his swag so that he could pull Jessica in the first place, so am I to blame if he has fallen in love with her, and only see me as a friend? I don’t know, but I am not leaving this show without telling him how I feel.
There were memes going around saying that Jessica was for the streets because her and Aaron slept together, and then she was on a date with Joe, kissing him and telling him how she enjoys being with him.
I can’t lie, I was hot when I saw the cam showing Joe and Jessica kissing. I had to chill though, because again, Joe and I are just friends, and this is just a game. I felt some type of way when the live cam showed Joe telling Jessica that she was every man’s dream, and he feels lucky that he’s had the opportunity to date a woman like her. He told her how he loves how fun and outgoing she is, and he could see them going far. Jessica agreed.
Both Aaron and I felt a bit disheartened. We both were in love with two people who we weren’t sure if they felt the same way about us, or if it was about winning the game.
The hours flew by and it was now time for Jessica and Joe to make their choice, but first they had to reveal their choice to the producers, without telling each other who they’d chosen. After they made their decisions, they came outside to reveal their choice. Jessica went first.
Joe and Aaron stood side by side. Jessica turned to Joe and said, “Joe, when I first saw you, you were sexy, in a dorky kinda way. You weren’t my type per-say, but then you started to change and feel more confident about yourself, and that drew me to you. Then you told me that I had something to do with you wanting to better yourself, and I couldn’t believe it. People say that a man changes for the woman they want, and I didn’t believe it until I met you. You say that I inspired you to change and gain confidence, but you did the same for me.
You made me believe in love again, and you helped me believe that I deserved it. You are most definitely husband material, but with that being said, you’re not the man for me, I’m sure you’ll make some lucky woman happy, and I hope that someday, I get an invite to the wedding,” she said.
Jessica then turned to Aaron, with tears in her eyes. “Aaron, I’ve loved you since the first day I saw you, and those feelings are confirmed every time we’re together. I came here for love and I know without a shadow of doubt, that I’ve found it in you. You’re not only handsome, you’re funny, caring, solid, and did I say handsome?” she said before laughing.
I choose you, Aaron… if you’ll have me,” Jessica said. “Yes!” Aaron yelled with excitement, and his hands in the air. He then walked up to Jessica and picked her up. Then he kissed her and put her back down. “I love you so much,” Aaron said. I love you too, Jessica cried.
I was getting teary eyed myself. If they weren’t in love, I feel like they have a legit connection and it could possibly grow into love. Are they truly in love, or is it a performance? Only the two of them knows the truth, but it’s up to the audience to decide.
It was now time for Joe to decide. My anxiety was on ten. Although Jessica had made her choice, Joe still had to choose the person he’d told the producers he’d chosen before the show aired. The producers did this so that people wouldn’t change their mind based on the other person’s decision.
Joe turned to me and said, “Charlotte, my best friend, my ace, my ride or die. You complete me. We have a bond that even James Bond couldn’t touch. Okay, that was corny,” Joe said, before we both shared a laugh. “But that’s just it though. You laugh at my corny jokes. You saw me when no one else did, and you gave me the confidence I’ve never had,” he said before looking at Jessica.
My heart dropped. “Jessica,” Joseph said with a big smile. “We’ve had some amazing times. We grew super close in only a week’s time. When I’m with you, I feel like I’m that guy. You bring a confidence out of me that I never knew I had. You’re like every man’s dream woman, but we’re not in a dream, and the reality is, I’m in love with,” Joe turned to me and said.
“You. I’m in love with you Charlotte. You’re not only my best friend, you’re my true. You’re the love of my life. You’re so amazing, beautiful, smart, funny, a tad bit bossy, but I can handle it,” Joe said before we shared a laugh.
You’re the first person I think about when I open my eyes in the morning, and you’re the last person I think about before closing them at night. I choose you not only now, but I choose you forever, if you’ll have me,” Joe said.
I was crying, and so was Jessica and some of the film crew. Joe pulled a small box out of his pocket and walked up to me and kneeled down on one knee. “Charlotte, you make me better in every way possible. You encourage me to be my best self. You’re my best friend, the love of my life, and I want to make you my wife. Charlotte Andrea Williams, will you marry me,” Joe said.
I couldn’t stop the tears. Yes, yes, and yes a million times more. I love you so much. I always have. Yes, I will marry you,” I cried. Joe stood up and put the ring on my finger. He also had tears in his eyes. He kissed me, and that kiss was the most loving and passionate kiss I’ve ever had.
“After that kiss, we can just skip right to the honey moon,” one of the producers said. We all laughed.
America voted, and Joe and I won the million dollars. 68% of people believed that Aaron and Jessica were in love, but they also believed that Joe and I are in love, because we received an 89% vote.
Although everyone knew the answers, the host and producer of the show had to ask. “Joseph and Charlotte. Is your relationship truly about love, or is it about success?” he said. “Love,” me and Joseph both said.
“I thought so,” the host said, before congratulating us. “And there you have it folks. Is love or success more important, according to Joseph and Charlotte, love conquers all. Thanks for joining us on Love and Success. See you next time. Take Care.
