Anxiety will cause a hopeful person who’s in dire need of peace, to rush out of a bad situation into something far worse. Which is why God wants to be our peace in the midst of the storms in our lives. If we can’t find peace in Him, even in a bad situation, then we will never find it. As long as you lean to your own understanding, rely on your own strength or capabilities, or look to other people or things first, then you leave no room for the wisdom of God. A part of the wait, is learning to trust God and being a good steward over your current blessings. We show God that we trust Him and we show Him that we’re good stewards by being obedient to His Word. Listen to that still small voice. Pay attention to what He reveals to you. If you don’t understand what He is saying or showing you, then ask for wisdom. Do not allow anxiety to cause you to take matters into your own hands, outside the will of God. If you’ve ever asked the question, “What am I supposed to do while waiting on God?” The answer is, “Be obedient.” There’s nothing harder than being obedient when you have to wait. Especially, when you don’t understand why you’re waiting or you’re unsure of the future. In times like this, remember, speak and meditate on Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Nothing can stop God’s great plan for those He has chosen; however, impatience and doubt can make things harder for that individual as well as prolong the wait before reaching their destiny.
