“God, can I catch a break?”… Three things that will help you get through, when you’re going through.

Do you ever feel like your head is under water, and you’re fighting to catch your breath? Does it ever feel like, just when you get your head above water and catch your breath, you get pulled right back under water? We’ve all been there, and many of us not only have been through this, but our lives can sometimes feel as though we’re repeatedly going through this, and we find ourselves asking God. “God, can I catch a break?” Let’s look at what the Bible says, we should do during these times. 1 Peter 5:8-10
“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.”
1. Be alert, not in your feelings. Look at things from a spiritual perspective. The enemy isn’t trying to keep you under because he doesn’t have anything else to do. The enemy is trying to keep you down for a reason. However, God is allowing the pressure to come on you, in order to build your character. Romans 5:3-4, “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation.”
2. Know who the real enemy is, and stand your ground in Christ. Believe and declare God’s Word over your life. Ephesians 6:10-13, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
3. Remember that trouble don’t last always! Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
So, keep going my friends. I know it’s hard see past what you go through, especially when it feels as though you can’t catch a break, but when you come out, you’ll be better, stronger, wiser and more resilient than ever! In Jesus name. Amen.
