Inconveniences

Sooo, if someone asks me what is one of my pet peeves? Being inconvenienced would definitely be somewhere near the top of my list. Why? Because I had plans! I usually go about my day on a specific schedule and if those plans are interrupted, it can become frustrating.

Why is this frustrating? One word, time. There’s 24 hours in a day, and if I have those hours already mapped out, I’m not a happy camper when I find out that I have to alternate my route. But isn’t that just how life is? The Word of God says, “We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps. -Proverbs 16:9.”

Smh… well, I deal with it. The inconveniences I mean, knowing that it’s not a shocker to God, that I was going to face this speed bump, road block, traffic jam or whatever metaphor you’d like to use to describe the ghost of inconvenience. I believe inconveniences are a test, as with many other not so pleasant situations we face. If you really think about it, inconveniences work for our good, because they keep us out of our comfort zone, which is important for our spiritual growth.

So, I may not be happy about being inconvenienced, but it is a reality check, a reality check that tells me I need to stay focused on the task ahead, and that is remaining in Christ and doing exactly what He has called me to do. If I stay focused, then inconveniences shouldn’t be too much of a problem, because I’m equipped and prepared to handle what comes my way.

John 15:9

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
